A Curator’s Journey | 2026 Specialty Bourbon & Whiskey Drops

In March 2026, the Reformation team traveled to North Carolina for a tough assignment: hand-sampling exceptional barrels to select our favorite casks. Those single-barrel picks were brought home to Canton, Georgia, forming the heart of our 2026 Curator’s Journey.

For our first official drop this September, we are showcasing our distillers’ mastery of blending, proofing, and palate. These limited releases celebrate local grain, barrel character, and the art of the blend—right here in Cherokee County, Georgia.

The September Releases

Folkhearted 6-Year Wheated Bourbon

  • Bottle Count: 400 bottles (2 hand-selected barrels)
  • Mash Bill: 70% Corn, 16% Wheat, 14% Malted Barley (Distilled in NC, finished in Canton, GA)
  • Profile: Honey-forward with notes of vanilla and caramel. Pillowy, sweet, and refined.
  • The Story: A showcase of curated single-barrel selections, blended and proofed to perfection.

Born Day: American Bourbon (Master Blend)

  • Bottle Count: 50 bottles (Ultra-limited release)
  • Blend Profile: 90% Aged Wheated Bourbon (9-Yr & 6-Yr), 10% Bold Rye (7-Yr & 4-Yr)
  • Profile: Complex, rich caramel, toffee, and warm spice.
  • The Story: Created to celebrate Reformation Co-founder & CEO Spencer Nix’s 50th birthday, Born Day marries smooth, aged wheated bourbon with a gentle touch of high-rye spice. Rare, complex, and memorable—much like our fearless leader.

Cherokee Mud: Bourbon Cream

  • Profile: Smooth, rich, and creamy with house-distilled bourbon, cocoa, coffee, and vanilla.
  • The Story: An ode to a day spent on Georgia soil, no matter where you stand. Enjoy it poured over ice, spiked in morning coffee, or shaken into a signature Cherokee Mudslide.

Spent a week in Amsterdam for my real job and disc Spent a week in Amsterdam for my real job and discovered this amazing stout by @twochefsbrewing (first it's awesome that they have such a vibrant and diverse brewery scene there, second it's awesome that you can buy single cans in the grocery for 2,50 euros).

We loved it so much that we were excited to find it in duty free at the airport on our way out. I wish they shipped to the US, I'd buy more.
