Huge news from this year’s Craft Brewers Conference – Reformation Brewery is officially the 2026 Skunkworks Lounge Champion! We took home the crown in an industry-judged showdown hosted by Abstrax Hops. This isn’t just any trophy; the Skunkworks Lounge is a space where brewers from across the country push the boundaries of flavor and aroma through scientific innovation. After making it through a blind-judging round earlier in the season, we poured live on the CBC show floor, and the industry votes are in: Tangerine Steam is the winner.
The Winning Brew: Tangerine Steam
Tangerine Steam is a fruited sour built around Abstrax’s Sour Tangie BrewGas. This unique ingredient provides a citrus-powered profile with earthy undertones drawn from the Sour Tangie cannabis cultivar.
For those wondering – yes, it’s TTB-approved! It uses terpenes with no THC or CBD whatsoever. The result is “the flavor and aroma of cannabis without the cannabis,” creating a beer that is bright, tart, deeply aromatic, and has what we like to call a “signature edge.” It started as a draft experiment, and now it’s a national champion.

You spoke, and we listened. The response to Tangerine Steam has been too loud to leave it as a one-time taproom draft. We are officially heading into a can release! We are currently working out the final details, so stay tuned for updates on when and where you’ll be able to take this award-winning sour home with you.
